Which side are you on - old or new?

What do you think? Are you more into the classic New Holland tractors with their charming simplicity, or do you lean towards the modern ones that boast sleek technology and comfort? I'm excited to hear your thoughts!

Agree about classics, their simple hydraulics, easy-to-use controls, and straightforward maintenance really set them apart in the field.

My 30-year old NH LX885 has been a good machine. Only problem was the hydraulic hoses needed replacement and they are difficult to get at since I can't tilt the cab.

LX885s are sturdy machines that can last a long time if you care for them properly. However changing hydraulic hoses without tilting the cab can be quite a pain, you’ll usually have to work from underneath or through the side panels.

You are so correct. Working in that tight space needed custom altered open-end wrenches. It also meant getting hydraulic lines with the correct psi rating.

My TC33D 1999 model I guess would be considered classic. At any rate I consider it my go/ to tractor. For most chores. I have a somewhat lengthy story I can tell about this tractor someday. When I purchased around 2010 the engine was seized with only 356 hours showing. Drove from southern IN to Dallas TX to pick it up. Tractor now has over 1300hours. More to come if interested.

Absolutely! Those tight spaces and high-psi lines definitely make it necessary to have custom tools on hand.
