New Holland on tough terrain

Dealing with steep slopes or rough terrain can really test your gear. Some folks say their New Holland takes it all in stride while others have had to fight for traction and stability. It’s interesting how everyone has their own experiences when the ground gets tricky.

What about you? How has your New Holland fared in challenging terrain or on steep slopes?

Yeah, in Nevada, my New Holland and I took on some rocky hills. It handled it pretty well, but I learned to take it slow going uphill to keep from slipping.

I remember those muddy trails after it rained forever. My New Holland would slip at first, but keeping the RPMs steady was key. I learned to be patient when moving stuff around in tough spots, and it was worth it every time.

I almost got stuck on this super steep hill, but I added some weight in the back, and that gave me enough grip to get through. My New Holland ain’t perfect, but it’s been reliable when things get rough. It's a bit like those old mining days.

Love the traction lock for the rear wheels. It has pulled me thru several times when I had one front and opposite rear wheel slipping. Never ever been stuck with this tractor except for one time when I had a trailer load of wood on the back and the ground had thawed just enough to lose all traction on the hill.

That setup is really getting the job done, that traction lock is a lifesaver when things get slippery. Hauling that trailer full of wood and the splitter looks like a great way to get ready for winter.
