L555 cab heater

got a l555 with a Perkins engine want to put a cab heater in not quite sure where to hook the heater hose up on the engine. I see a plug next to the thermostat housing not sure on the other hose

When you're setting up the L555 Perkins heater, you'll want to connect one hose to the plug close to the thermostat housing (that's the inlet) and the other hose to a return port on the water pump or the lower radiator hose using a tee fitting. This will help create circulation thru the heater core. Be sure to route the hoses with minimal bends and secure all connections with proper clamps. After everything's installed make sure to bleed the air from the system to prevent any airlocks that could impact how well the heater works

If the thermostat has a bypass circuit, using that can enhance flow when the main thermostat is shut. Plus, make sure the coolant pump has sufficient head pressure to keep the flow going thru the heater core at idle.

Make sure to check if the heater core has an internal valve, some systems require it to be open for the flow to start. Also, be sure to test for flow before you finalize the installation.
