You’ve likely found yourself glancing at a few unfinished ideas and mentally prioritizing what needs to be tackled first. That familiar 'season’s coming' vibe always seems to catch you off guard. How do you typically prepare for the next wave of projects?

I always get to this point where I'm looking at a bunch of half-done stuff and wondering how it all piled up. I usually just go for the easiest thing first to get myself moving before things get crazy again.

I tell myself every year I'm going to stay on top of things, but I always end up doing the same dance looking around the shop, figuring out what really matters, and taking care of the easy stuff before getting into the bigger projects. It keeps me from losing it.

I've figured out that if I don't make some kind of list, everything just blurs together, and I don't get anything done. So I walk around the garage, make notes in my head, and sort stuff into gotta do, should do, and if I feel like it. That little bit of planning saves me when the busy season starts.

I used to wait until the last second and then freak out and try to fix everything at once, which never worked out. Now I take a slow walk around, see what's been sitting there, and start getting one thing ready at a time cleaning parts, ordering stuff, and making space. It makes the whole pile of projects feel a lot less crazy.
