DEF level on my L218 skid steer

I got this L218 Skid Steer and the DEF level reading is all over the place. One time, it shows full, then suddenly drops. Will replacing the sensor fix this? any ideas on what else to check? Thanks!

I'm thinking it could be the sensor, but I would also say to drain the def tank and clean it. A friend of mine did that and things went back to normal
