2023 New Holland Power Star 90 questions

This is my bro’s tractor, the engineering on the clutch pedal assembly is an absolute joke. At only 405 hours, a cheap clip failed on the cable connection pin, wearing the pin down and dumping the clutch spring at his feet. A $90K tractor literally stopped working because of a 10 cent part.

He’s replaced the clutch pin with a basic bolt and locknut for a permanent fix, but now the plastic clip that holds the cable in the main bracket has also disintegrated.
The dealership won't sell that small clip separately, it's a full cable assembly purchase only.

Does anyone know where to find a suitable replacement C clip? He's got the cable secured with baling wire right now just to be able to use the tractor. The cost cutting here is unbelievable!

If the dealer won’t sell the clip, grab a hardware store snap ring / e-clip kit. Pick one that just fits the shaft / pin groove and use it. Make sure it’s retained well (maybe with loctite or a dab of weld) so it doesn’t fall off.

Oof, that sounds pretty rough! Try checking out McMaster-Carr or Grainger. Just look for push-on retaining clips or cable bracket clips. Make sure you get the right diameter and groove depth, though. You might even find something similar at your local auto parts store, check out their help section.

Shouldnt this be coverd by your warranty? I believe its 3 years warranty from date of sale.

If you give me the s/n number i can check the parts catalogue and see if your dealer missed something.

Yep, you're absolutely right. That should totally be covered under the warranty, especially since they've got that three-year thing going from when they bought it.
