T1510 shuts off when shifting into gear

Running into a strange issue on my T1510. Tractor fires up fine, PTO engages no problem, but the second I drop it into high/medium/low, the engine shuts off. Feels like a safety switch problem, but I can't pin it down. Could be the seat switch, neutral switch, or even the PTO safety circuit acting weird. Anyone run into this before? I'd like to narrow it down before I start chasing wires blindly.

sounds like a safety interlock is activating. You just got to figure out which one. Many modern tractors have a system designed to prevent the engine from running if you're trying to shift into gear without a safety condition being met, such as the clutch being depressed or the PTO disengaged. Since the PTO works, that part of the circuit seems functional but maybe there's a problem where the tractor thinks the PTO is still engaged even when it's not.

Another possibility is the neutral safety switch on the transmission itself, which could be telling the computer that the tractor is not in neutral when it actually is, causing the engine to shut off as a precaution before a potential lurch forward. Check those 2 first.

Been there! On my old L series, it was actually the parking brake switch that was acting up.
Even though I released the brake, the switch thought it was still engaged, and hitting the transmission safety logic shut the engine down. Give that a quick look near the lever or pedal.

I'm with @whey barley it's definitely a safety interlock, the tractor thinks you're about to do something dangerous. Check the Clutch Pedal Switch first! That's the most common culprit for dies in gear scenarios
