2004 TC25 won't start

I've got a TC25 that was running fine for brush cutting, but after shutting it off, it wouldnt start again. It acted like a safety switch issue, so i tested each one by jumping them and I think I found the issue... It's the lowest switch on the side of the transmission. When I jumper that switch, the tractor starts normally. Now im wondering... what is this switch actually for? Transmission or PTO? Is it easy to replace, just a screw-in? Or does it involve draining hydraulic fluid? And lastly, is it risky to run the tractor with the switch bypassed? Thanks

That's likely the range selector or neutral safety switch. Usually screw-in, but may leak fluid if removed. Bypassing it can be risky, it is meant to prevent starting in gear, so replace it if possible

Bypassing that switch long-term is asking for trouble, it's likely your neutral safety or PTO safety switch, designed to prevent accidental starts. Running with it jumpered is a safety hazard and liability nightmare if anything goes wrong

Thanks, makes sense. I was wondering, is there a way to test the range selector or neutral safety switch before pulling it out? Just want to be sure its the issue before replacing it. Also, is it common for these to fail on the TC25?
