What’s the most expensive DIY error you’ve made?

I once followed the old saying, measure twice, cut once… and somehow still ended up a foot short. Let’s just say I created the world’s priciest firewood!

My most recent costly mistake was using the grapple and trying to remove a black walnut stump that was lying on it's side but still had roots grounded. i could wiggle the stump but couldn't lift it. So in four wheel drive and a little more RPMs I tried backing up. this was the result. $838 for each cylinder Yikes!!
