You step outside early, only to find your truck’s windshield is completely frozen over. It feels like the defroster is taking ages to do its job! Some people have their favorite tricks involving airflow, while others swear by special gadgets or sprays. What’s your secret for clearing that windshield quickly on those frosty mornings, and how effective has it been for you?

I just blast the heat and point the vents up high. I picked that up back when I had to head to work super early every morning. Nothing special, but it clears the windshield faster than you'd think.

I've messed with sprays and all kinds of stuff, but what works best is letting my truck warm up for a minute while I scrape the outside a bit. Got into that habit from years of getting up early in the cold, and it's still the fastest way I know.

Learned this trick from having to deal with tons of icy mornings before long drives. First, I turn the defroster on low, then slowly crank it up so the glass warms up evenly. While that's going on, I use a scraper to get the top layer off. Between the heat slowly rising and a quick scrape, the windshield clears up real quick and stays clear.
