Steering feels heavy on my TS90 advice?

Just snagged a clean 2003 New Holland TS90 2WD for pasture and mowing. It steers a bit weird without a front loader, especially when turning slowly,it wants to go straight.

I've got 150 lbs on the front bumper, and the rear tires aren't loaded. Do these tractors steer better with the weight of a front loader? Or is it a tire thing? Should I fill the front tires or add more front weight?

Any advice from those who've used these New Hollands without a loader would be great

Yeah, especially in slow turns. So what you're feeling isn't unusual. A loader does help steering since it shifts weight balance, but front tire condition, inflation and alignment play a big role too. Adding more front weight usually wont help much, but filling or upgrading the front tires can make steering easier.

Adding fluid or more weight up front should help, and making sure the front tires are in good shape and properly inflated makes a big difference too. Filling the rears will also balance things out and take some push off the front end

I totally agree. If you balance the tractor by adding fluid or weight at the front, make sure all the tires are in good shape and properly inflated, and fill up the rear tires, you'll really notice a difference in steering and overall performance.

Yeah, the TS90 handles smoother with a loader since the front end gets more bite. Without it, adding weight or filling the front tires can help, but you don’t want to throw off the balance. What kind of tread are you running up front, and do you know the PSI? That might be part of it.
