OIl filter choices for T4.75 PowerStar

I'm considering oil filter options for my New Holland T4.75 PowerStar, and figured maybe I could get help here. The OEM filters obviously fit the bill, but I just need more knowledge
My cousin advised me to stick with New Holland branded filters for peace of mind, but there are also cross references around for Baldwin, Wix, and Fleetguard and I;ve heard opinions that the aftermarket ones filter just as well (if not better), others say you're risking it with anything that's not NH.
I don't mind paying a bit more if it saves me headaches in the future, but if there's a good aftermarket option that's proven itself, I'd love to know.

OEM filters from New Holland are designed for the brand so it works well. But some aftermarket brands are actually good too like Baldwin, Wix, and Fleetguard. They manufacture filters that are built to the same or even better standards. To be sure you have the correct filter for your specific engine, double-check the cross-reference part numbers. As long as you confirm the part number and stick with a trusted brand, a good aftermarket filter should be okay.

@hollymolly yeah, go with Fleetguard, Baldwin, or Wix filter. They are all reputable brands that meet or exceed OEM specs.
For your tractor, the key is to use a reliable cross reference to ensure you get the right filter. Fleetguard is a great choice as they specialize in heavy duty applications, but you can't go wrong with any of those three.

I get why your cousin says “just use NH”, it’s safer. But NH may change specs on you. Some aftermarket stuff is legit, others are garbage. If you go non-OEM, pick a brand with lab tests or farmer reviews behind it, and inspect every first change carefully.
