Backhoe advice for 3930

[Eastbound]

I just picked up this old New Holland 3930 with around 2,500 hours on it for our family cabin. Super excited! I'm thinking about adding a backhoe since I need to do some light pond digging and get rid of a few stumps

I came across a clean Bradco 609 nearby, but I'm a bit unsure if it'll fit. Do I need a subframe mount for it, or can it just hook up to the 3-point? I've heard some mixed things about using 3-point backhoes, so I'm kind of in the dark here

Just to clarify, I'm not doing any commercial work, just some cleanup on our land. Has anyone used something similar on a 3930? I'd really appreciate any advice you guys have

Nice pickup! The 3930s a solid tractor. For the Bradco 609, I'd definitely recommend a subframe mount, 3 point setups can flex too much and risk cracking the housing, especially with stumps involved. If you are just doing light work, it might seem fine, but long term it is worth the extra peace of mind.

Running a 3-point backhoe on a 3930 without a proper subframe is asking for trouble, it can twist the rear end over time. For anything involving stumps or digging, go subframe or don't bother

I think you might want to double-check this, but from what I've heard, the Bradco 609 connects directly to your 3-point hitch, it doesn't require a subframe for that particular model. It should manage light pond work and deal with stumps quite well on a 3930. The main drawback is its reach and digging depth compared to frame-mounted units, but for occasional use around a cabin, it's just perfect and much more affordable than a dedicated backhoe.

@bluefieldwrench61 get a subframe for that Bradco because 3 point backhoes put too much stress on the tractor
