Are you ready to welcome everyone or are you in packing mode? A few years ago I hosted a small Thanksgiving and quickly discovered I didn’t have enough chairs. That was a lesson learned fast, sometimes it’s just easier to join someone else’s celebration. What traditions do you cherish?

That chair story is absolutely hilarious and so relatable. This year I’m really embracing my role as the host. One of my favorite traditions is the appetizer hour right before the big feast. We just lay out some snacks and drinks and it’s the only moment when the house feels calm enough to actually catch up with everyone before the whirlwind of cooking and serving kicks in.

Typically prefer to join in on the fun rather than be the one hosting. One Thanksgiving I spent the day at my cousin’s house and we ended up playing board games late into the night. That’s turned into my favorite holiday tradition.

Haha, I can totally relate! Last Thanksgiving I almost ran out of plates too. I had to pull out some mismatched ones but we made it work! As for traditions I really cherish the moment when we go around the table and share what we’re thankful for. It’s a beautiful reminder of what’s important.

This Thanksgiving just past we were expecting around 30 family, friends and loved ones.. This required a trip to our church to retrieve/borrow an additional 13 folding chairs. Our best count for the day was 26 people total.
