Having spent years working with machines, I can still picture my own wobbly first day in the driver's seat.
I bet everyone has a memorable story to share. What’s the funniest or most awkward moment you experienced on your first day driving a tractor?
Did something happen that made you think, “Wait, did that really just go down?”

On my very first day driving my dad’s old NH 3930, I somehow managed to hit the throttle instead of the brake and rolled right into the flower bed. There was mud, crushed daisies, and my embarrassment was everywhere definitely learned my lesson quickly, but I couldn’t help but laugh… or keep apologizing.

I was just 16, trying to handle a tiny Kubota B7100, and somehow I engaged the PTO while shifting gears. The bucket swung around like a pendulum and scared the chickens half to death. Was it safe? Not really. Was it funny? Absolutely! I still share that story at every family gathering.

My first experience on a big Case IH felt like I was piloting a spaceship. I totally forgot to lower the three-point hitch and ended up clipping the barn door on my first pass. Everyone burst out laughing, I turned bright red, but hey, at least I learned my lesson the hard way!

oh man, I was a new operator on a riding mower and replaced a broken pulley with a larger one, didn't understand gear ratios.

The first time they let the clutch out, the mower popped a wheelie and reached speeds that terrified the neighbors
