You’re propped up against your New Holland, just waiting for the temp to drop, grease gun in hand. Suddenly, the shop radio goes silent, and out of nowhere, someone shouts something so hilariously wrong that it’s just right. We want to hear the funniest things you’ve overheard while on the job.

A new guy asked where the 'spark plugs' were on a diesel tractor. It was dead quiet for a solid five seconds before everyone burst out laughing. He was serious, just graduated and thought all engines used spark plugs

I once heard a guy on the radio ask for blinker fluid with a straight face. It took me a moment to catch on that he was joking with the apprentice, who actually went to check in the parts room.

A customer told me his tractor wasn't getting enough air in the tires because the compressor was tired. He actually meant the air compressor was broken, but the way he said it made it sound like the machine needed a nap, lol

My dad told me this story from when he was a youngster.

Granddad, had to drill out and retap a welded nut. Because of where it was located, the only way to get to it was from the underside.

Once it was retapped, one of his friends (quite seriously) asked where they could find a left hand bolt.

After a little head scratching, he was asked why a left hand bolt would be needed.... "because it was tapped upside down"

No idea how many years ago this was, but I still get a chuckle every time a bolt needs attention
